So here we go, the first update on my training so far. I have had a great winter training period to date which started back in December after an end of season break. I have also stayed injury free (which was my one of my main goals as having picked up a calf injury last year) so with regular strength and conditioning exercises and sports massages my body is in a much stronger place than last year. Training on all three disciplines has been pleasing with improvements all round compared to last season, there is still a lot more hard work to be done, but I am looking forward to my first race in May to see where I am at performance-wise. To end on a positive note I had a young gentleman who asked me at the local pool this week how they can get into triathlon which is great to hear and get more people involved in Triathlon and for those reading this and thinking the same take a look at the Go Tri website (remember Triathlon is for all ages as there is an 85-89 age category!).
