In 2009 we were both working for an online financial services company. There we discovered we shared the same ethos about giving financial advice and how to establish long-lasting relationships with clients. In 2012 we decided to do something positive about this and founded Martin-Redman Partners.
It is the building of long-lasting relationships with clients. Anyone can set-up an independent financial advisor business but the real test is whether they can add lasting value.
Our service is not about the managing of the money but the relationship that you, as the client, have with your money. We help you with that relationship. We listen to you, assess your needs and then guide you on how to make informed decisions about what is the right thing to do and why.
Technology can help with research and analysis but it doesn’t have the human touch. It can’t read financial anxiety, reassure you about the safety of your investments or confirm that you can withdraw some of your capital. This is where we add lasting value.
We also enjoy working with our clients and look forward to our meetings with them. As our clients have been with us for many years, we know that they feel the same way.
Transparency. Quite rightly the financial regulator understands that people must be treated in an open, fair and honest way. When working with an IFA you need to understand what you’re paying for whether it’s delivering fair value.
When working with you, either as an individual or a business, our process ensures there is transparency at all times. We never proceed with any investment or policy unless we are 100% confident that you understand our recommendations and that you are confident to proceed.
Chairman DipPFS MBA BSc
I trained and practiced as a private client stockbroker with Charles Stanley before implementing the UK’s first independent online broker. This was then followed by another online broker with a focus on value and education. With the belief that technology can assist but not replace sound advice I then founded an IFA to test the concept. At this point I recruited Ben and learned that we had a similar attitude towards treating clients fairly. It was soon obvious that the only way to achieve our common goal was to create our own business.
Managing Director DipPFS Ba Hons
After graduating I worked for Virgin Direct which at the time was a start-up and a leading example of a low cost, customer focused financial services company. Having obtained my qualifications I worked as an IFA in Cambridge before being head-hunted to join Julian’s team. It was while working with Julian that we discussed and built our vision for what Independent Financial Advice should be. It became clear that the next step was to put those ideas into practice and form Martin-Redman Partners.

I became an IFA in 2006, after many years working as a Compliance Officer and prior to that as an Accountant in industry. This breadth of experience allows me to share my deep knowledge of the technical aspects of financial planning. I joined Martin-Redman Partners in 2014 and my passion is to see the MRP Process at work for clients and to witness the dramatic difference it makes to their current lifestyle and future retirement plans.
Client Administrator
I’m the friendly person who makes sure our clients are on top of any administrative or legal paperwork. I’m also the client service point of contact between an MRP partner and the person they are advising. I started working in financial services with Norwich Union in 1991 where I learnt about the importance of keeping clients informed at all times. Throughout my career I’ve specialised in financial customer service and team management; and whilst my children were young business management for education. In 2017 I was given the exciting opportunity to help Martin-Redman Partners expand.
“Julian is endlessly patient and calm in explaining clearly financial matters, and - perhaps his greatest gift - bringing peace of mind.”

“Ben is always willing to pick up the phone for a quick chat to talk over ideas and help plan for changes in circumstances, not least when there’s market volatility.”
